Here we go again... (Devlog 18/10/20)

Well, 2020 happened.... After publishing Super Press The Button Simulator I was on a bit of a programming high and immediately set to work on a sequel. I thought I could make a full fledged game with only a minor understanding of C++ and an even smaller understanding of game development. This went on for a few months before I eventually gave up on the project as a whole. But now I'm back and I'm more deluded than ever! This time it'll be different, I swear!

The sequel I had in mind was Button Corp, a game in which the player would be given a random string of text and would have to type it into a prompt in a small amount of time, getting smaller and smaller with each level. I intended to have a Devil May Cry style system where speed and accuracy would grant you a temporary points multiplier. I expected (and still expect) the game to be about 30 levels long, ending with a boss fight.

Eventually I gave up on the project and briefly tried to write a novel, which was a mistake but knowing me I'll probably try again. I tried to put my programming past behind me, but I couldn't escape the feeling that I had work that needed to be finished; which is why I'm here now.

I aspire to upload devlogs with either every major development or on a weekly basis (I haven't chosen yet). Hopefully the next devlog will bring some more interesting news.

I have also started a youtube channel that I hope to post devlog-esque videos and trailers on. But knowing me I'll probably abandon it... https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpI9KjLljWYnSgzeSGvI9VQ?

See you in the next devlog! (hopefully)
